A passionate architect with a global perspective, Diana Ariza brings a deep sensitivity to the environments she designs. From a young age, Diana was attuned to how spaces made her feel—whether uplifted or drained—carefully observing light, sound, and atmosphere. This innate awareness led her to pursue a career in architecture. Diana was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia, has lived in California for almost half her life, and holds dual citizenship in Colombia and the United States. She speaks Spanish, English, and French, having earned a master’s degree in urban planning in France. Her diverse background and lived experience as an immigrant and woman of color inform her holistic approach to design and creativity. She is proud to be among the 1.5% of licensed architects in the U.S. who identify as Latina women. Diana loves everything-flamenc@, and enjoys traveling, reading epic sagas, swimming in nature, and working on her personal passion project — an off-the-grid cabin in Mendocino County. She also volunteers for the Living Future and the city of Alameda Planning Board, where she lives with her partner, her son, and their pets (Vera the dog and Kerini the kitty). Diana loves documenting and sharing ideas, knowledge, and music, and you can find her on instagram as @darizak
